USA Online
Colleges
Online College Degree
for USA can be obtained at an accelerated rate but is that the right
choice for your unique situation?
Financial aid is usually available but don't be so eager to accept just
because they're giving it out.
Online college degrees are a nice addition to your
resume' but the kind of money involved you should consider a
USA
school that offers classes both on line and on campus or be prepared
to do the legwork to make certain the college you choose doesn't end up
becoming that dead-beat dad, lazy unemployable spouse or serious drug
addiction that you were smart enough to avoid. Because my research has
shown me that choosing a college degree, especially on line, is not
a sport for the feint of heart. Nor be thin-skinned for that
matter. You may have joined me from one of the forums where there was
quite a fight between the people passionate about having spent $30,000
or $40,000 or more and having only the payments and a worthless degree
to show for it versus the happy student who is now making a ton of money
at a prestigious job. Did you note that the complaints were basically the same negative experience? That the bigger the thread became the more the side backing the school increased?
Has anybody questioned the motive for sticking up
for a school that obviously did not do someone else right, even if they
did the other person okay. Why such passion to defend a school that
almost everybody agrees is high priced if nothing else.

Some day an online college degree will be every bit as
appreciated as the other version but that day is not today (as a general
rule of thumb). In fact if anything, the degree earned on line is less
appreciated now than three or four years ago because the schools like
those in the Corinthian Colleges Inc., which hold the same accreditation
as ... well for instance at the right I have several online colleges
listed with colleges I think we can all agree are considered to provide
a quality education.
Some of the names you hear
the most often when seeking information about online colleges are the
very places you'd do well to avoid. For those not well-versed in how
the college thing works, it can be more than frustrating, it can be
life-changing for the worse as well as for the better. Remember you WILL
pay back the loan to Washington with interest. Its just a matter of how
much and when and whether it will be an easy to make payment or one that
takes every penny of your money formerly used for socializing,
entertainment, laundry and half the month's food. Think about that
because its a pretty good guestimate of what life would be like earning
$10 an hour and having the government take their "interest" out of your
paycheck every week before you can even get the check.
Some people call them schools for profit which is rather silly
because all colleges desire to earn a profit despite some having been
given the label of "non-profit" college. However it is still a pretty
good guide to use as a rule of thumb when seeking information about
where you will get your more legitimate higher education.
Do not forget that when you sign up for an accelerated rate type of
degree program that it will be just that: and that you won't have the
teacher to answer all your questions and that these classes will come
and go quickly and though they are flexible schedule in respect to you
can log in at any time ... they do still have deadlines which if not met
even a few times ... the college will fail you to make room for more or
if they have extra space then you may sail through the course without effort
because they want to milk your loan for another semester. This is one
area that seems all logic is denied.
There seems to be two minds of
thought where one side will do everything they can to push out the
student (this most people said was to make room for the class to
graduate under the legal limit. If they don't force out the excess they
have to explain why you aren't getting a degree which there is no way
they want that to happen, so they force you to quit or default for too
many missed classes. I'm sure there are some really imaginative and easy
ways and the other is over the top the other way. They pass anybody. In
either case it seems more and more employers are requiring a legitimate
degree to even be interviewed.
Non-Profit Online College
Is there such a thing as a non-profit college on line? Sure they are
coming on line at an amazing rate. Soon all colleges will have an online
version of most of their classes. For now however there are some things
you should know about the for-profit college choices such as University
of Phoenix, Kaplan, Argosy, Devry or any number of other colleges that
basically accept anybody with the price of tuition. Plus accepting so
many people can sometimes put the college in a position where it cannot
legally graduate all the people who are enrolled so they begin tactics
to cut down the herd.
Online college degrees basically have a limited value in that they
are still an acceptable means of gaining that increase in pay that you
want but an online college degree would not be the best choice for
someone without further credentials like an Associate's degree from a
brick and mortar school because the online degree is not going to get
you an interview with many places. Online colleges in the USA are
quickly gaining momentum but for at this very moment (written 1/28/09)
there are a ton of people crying about not being able to get a job with
their Corinthian Colleges Inc. (parent company) who parent these and
many more names (they change both name and location like the seasons so
some are probably not existing any more): names include Everest,
National Education Center Campus, Olympia, National Institute of
Technology, National Education Center, Corinthian Colleges, CDI Schools,
National Education Center, National Institute Of Technology,. Sue
Corinthian Schools, Sue NIT, Sue NEC and Sue Everest to name a few.
Online colleges
Not sure what to do, just that you want something
better? Get a
counselor to help you. Have many of the colleges I have listed call you
and do not accept less than honest replies. If it feels shady it
probably is: be patient, this is a huge part of your future involved.
Probably the rest of your life if you get a loan for $40k and then the
degree is ridiculed instead of desired by employers. Be aware you will
pay back the loans and at a steep rate of percentage so it is not a
freebie. The US GOv will hunt you down and garnish your wages until you
have almost nothing left to live on and worse it the garnishment only
covers the interest, never the principal so you can never make headway.
Once you get an understanding of what to look for you
can then visit several more colleges (here please! but if I don't have
enough to give you a big selection then go through at least the ones i
have found no complaints about and complete their call-back form because and compare tuitions along with
advice the counselors give you to see if it matches the other school's
advice. Or save time and go ahead and sign up at several of the colleges
below. It really isn't important which one contacts you first as long as
you are getting some to compare against each other. In any case after
you've spoken with the first counselor you'll better be able to discuss
in future meetings with other school guides.
