If they have to get a second job in order to cover their room mate’s irresponsibility then that is a backbone breaker and it won’t be long before grades force them out of school.

There’s laundry to be done. It might sound hard to believe to the average grown up but if a student is farther away than they can drag home their dirty clothes, those clothes won’t get washed until the student literally can’t get away with wearing them one more time. Someone adapt to managing their time might get that laundry and their homework done at the same time thus killing two birds with one stone.
